Home at Last Original Canvas Painting
About this artwork
"I had asked for him many years before. The one that would love me the way that I truly deserved. It took half a lifetime to find him. We danced in ignorance or denial until our hearts connected. At that moment I knew, I was home at last.
We were just in the hatching phase of our relationship. No one at our dance class had an inkling. When he arrived I flung myself into his arms to say hello and the moment my sternum met his, I heard a voice in my head say, I'm home." Popi Iatrou
In 'Home at Last,' the dancers are suspended in a moment of pure connection, their colourful hummingbird wings symbolising both grace and freedom. The embrace they share is one of deep understanding, capturing the essence of a love that took time to find but was always destined. Set against a rich purple background, their figures radiate warmth and joy, reflecting the vibrant energy of two souls finally united. Through this tender and evocative piece, Popi Iatrou beautifully conveys the feeling of finding your true home in the heart of another, where love and belonging soar together in harmony.
